Of course mental training costs money. Its an investement in your passion and in your life. Many athletes spend large sums of money on equipment, but would not consider spending anything on the most important piece of equipment - the mind !
Equipment gets old and worn out, so its a temporary investment. Investment in mental training lasts a lifetime and the effects just get better and better. Of course we need to have excellent equipment, but it seems such a shame and ineffective use of our resources to spend so many hours training and money on equipment to allow our minds to negatively interfere with our performance when perhaps a few sessions with a mental trainer would give enormous benefits.
How many athletes would put up with shoes that don't fit. Almost none. Yet many of us (me included in the old days when I played) came out on the field with a mind that didn't quite fit the occasion.
